The Gallup Student Poll measures hope, engagement, entrepreneurial aspiration, and career/financial literacy. SIATech administered the poll in Fall 2015 along with more than 800,000 other high school students nationwide. SIATech students frequently give higher responses than student responses in the nationwide sample. A recent order in a lawsuit against the California Department of Education (CDE) is impacting all schools across the state, including SIATech. In April 2012, two organizations, the Morgan Hill Concerned Parents Association and the Concerned Parent Association, filed a lawsuit against the CDE alleging widespread, systemic non-compliance by local education agencies with special education See The Story

On January 20, 2016, Flora Rodriguez, the wife of late Art Rodriguez, and daughter Marina came to San Jose Opportunity Youth Academy to speak about the book East Side Dreams. California State University Northridge (CSUN) welcomed SIATech Boyle Heights Independent High School students for a tour of their campus in November. Students took an eye-opening trip to the Power 106 radio station in December 2015. Power 106 welcomed both SIATech Boyle Heights and Pico-Union high school students to provide a behind-the-scenes tour of what happens in radio. Radio personnel discussed the opportunities available for students in radio through an ICT/Digital Media career focus. Students received the See The Story
SIATech is proud to provide the high school diploma program for the Opportunity Youth Academy located at the Washington Center in San Jose, California. Students complete their high school graduation requirements and benefit from the academic services of credentialed teachers, counselors, and support staff. Each student meets with an OYA teacher and counselor to develop See The Story
SIATech Seniors attended the City College Presentation/Tour and Job Fair with Mrs. Lewis, ESE and Student Services Specialist. Ms. Kimberly-Bowden-Cooper, Master Admissions Representative, provided the students information about their career technical training programs as well as a tour of the facility. This year, SIATech Gainesville started a student ambassador program. SIATech Ambassadors (SGA) are a select group of students chosen through an application process to assist prospective students in the enrollment process, represent SIATech at various outreach activities, and conduct campus tours.
