SIATech Site Leaders Accepted into the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principals’ Center’s Summer Institute
VISTA, CA—April 29, 2008—SIATech is proud to announce that six of its site leaders have been accepted into The Principals’ Center Summer Institute, “Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership” from June 30 – July 8, 2008.
The application process required the site leaders to each describe the SIATech program and its students as well as provide an essay on how a significant challenge has impacted their role as school leaders. The SIATech site leaders who were accepted into the program are:
- Joy Baldree, Gainesville, FL
- Kelly Callahan, Albuquerque
- Jake Gordon, Inland Empire, CA
- Sally Klein, San Diego
- Michael LaRoche, Jacksonville, FL
- Jane Ross, Sacramento
Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Support Services Larrie Hall is an institute faculty member at The Principals’ Center and will be attending the program entitled “Leadership: An Evolving Vision” from July 10-18, 2008. This program is for experienced educational leaders seeking to refine their leadership and management skills.
According to Hall, “This educational experience supports SIATech’s mission “Real Learning for Real Life™” and reminds our leaders to think of themselves as continuous learners. In addition, The Art of Leadership Summer Institute focuses on SIATech’s core values, in particular, learning that will prepare our leaders to provide improved service to our students, staff, and communities.”
Participating site leaders will attend the training and become a part of The Principals’ Center network at Harvard University. The Principals’ Center Summer Institute is a unique learning opportunity for SIATech leadership to learn how to lead and manage change, implement curriculum innovation, and explore successful models for school improvement.
