SIATech North County Independent Study Charter High School in Oceanside had its first day of the school year on August 27, 2018. Students and teachers are enthusiastically working to get everyone back on track to finishing the courses needed to complete high school and earn their diploma.

Teacher Tom Healy set up a drone demonstration during the first week of school. The drones were not only fun, but a great opportunity for students to learn some programming. The students who were most hesitant to try it ended up being the ones who were going crazy with learning to code the drones to do slips, fly around the room, and go various heights or distances. ALL of the students participated in the hands-on project to code and fly the drones.
