The recent announcement that Job Corps will be on a “phased pause” has been a surprise to many of us working on these centers. However, we are diligently working to set up systems for students to continue their education and courses that are currently in progress. We want our students to rest assured that we are here to support you every step of the way.
First Step: Declare Interest in Continuing at SIATech
SIATech staff at the Job Corps centers will remain present until the centers close. This is currently scheduled for June 30, 2025, however, if you are interested in continuing with SIATech high school, please let them know as soon as possible. They will help direct you with the next steps to transfer to one of our independent study sites. Once you enroll in that program you will be able to continue your coursework without delay.
If you are not able to meet with a staff member, you can also submit an interest form directly to us by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. You’ll receive a series of communications with next steps. Our independent study sites close for a few weeks in June, but will be up and running July 7, and ready to welcome you to the closest campus.
A free virtual information sessions will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Learn more about the Virtual Information Session here.
Second Step: Complete Paperwork to Enroll in SIATech Independent Study
There will be a couple of forms for you to complete and documentation to submit in order to enroll in SIATech independent study. We will help you obtain that paperwork and request any needed transcripts. However, since you will be transferring directly from a SIATech at Job Corps, this should be fairly easy and straightforward.
Third Step: Visit our Independent Study Campus and Get Started
While it is independent study, please rest assured that there is a lot of support provided by your mentor teacher and other credentialed teachers. We want you to come into the classroom to make sure all your questions are answered and that you are being provided with the structure to ensure you finish your classes. Even though Job Corps is going on a pause, we want every student to get to high school graduation!
