Community Rallies to Help Provide Food for Students

It’s not Thanksgiving yet, but at SIATech North County Independent Study, staff is already thinking about how to better support their students and their families.

At the end of last school year, NCIS partnered with Feeding San Diego, and now thanks to a generous donation from the Oceanside Home Depot (Vista Way), the site has a freezer to house perishable goods.

Assistant Store Manager Brandon Smith met Principal Greg Cohen and Teacher Tom Healy, to deliver the fridge on October 9th.

Staff and students look forward to stocking it with food, because we all know it’s easier to learn on a full belly!

SIATech North County Independent Study is part of a network of California charter high schools focused on helping 16-24 year old students get back in school and back on track to graduation. There is no tuition or fees to attend and students earn a fully accredited high school diploma. Learn more about your local campus at  www.siatech.org/enroll.
