On Thursday, September 19, SIATech East LA hosted their Back to School event.

The site kicked off its event by welcoming students, families, and community members to a meet and greet of the staff.

Attendees were able to enjoy some delicious, homemade or rather school-made tacos, beans, rice, and guacamole. The feast was cooked and prepared by the Associated Student Body (ASB).

Guests then played games, engaged in discussions with staff and members of [The Action Project](https://theaction-project.org/). The nonprofit organization supports system-impacted youth by inspiring community leadership and social justice advocacy.

Overall, the event was a great success! Shout out to Principal, **Mr. Gallardo**, East LA staff and students for putting together such a wonderful event.

Thank you to Community Schools Coordinator **Mr. Thomas **for sharing this write up with us!
