Recently SIATech North County Charter High School created a mannequin challenge video. Surprisingly, this 20-minute activity had a dramatic impact on our students. With all the crazy barriers and struggles in our student's lives, things like this really encourage them to keep coming to school.

I love it! It was really great to see the moods of these students after lunch today. It was much improved from where it normally would have been on a Thursday afternoon.

I noticed almost every student who had been in our lunchtime video stayed and worked for about 2.5 hours longer than they usually stay. And the kids were collaborating more and laughing more (because they had just recently been in a group activity with others).

It's amazing. Making an impact can sometimes be so simple, but can have an exponential effect!
